„To Follow Polaris” nazywa się nowy, progresywny album zespołu The Tangent. To niekoniecznie jest niespodzianka… z tego właśnie słynie ten zespół. A jednak jest w tym coś nowego. W ciągu roku, kiedy członków The Tangent można było zobaczyć na scenach całego świata wraz ze Stevem Hackettem, Soft Machine, Karnataką, Davidem Crossem, It Bites, Cyan i innymi, stało się jasne, że nie będzie czasu na wspólne spotkania w studio, z wyjątkiem tego jednego dnia w kwietniu 2023 roku. Rozwiązaniem zatem była decyzja o tym, żeby nagrywanie materiału kontynuował całkowicie sam lider grupy, Andy Tillison.
Andy twierdzi, że album „To Follow Polaris” jest, „wysoce optymistyczny”. Fani jego twórczości podejrzewają, że ten optymizm nie jest bezpodstawny, aczkolwiek niezbyt też łatwy. Ogólnie rzecz biorąc jego przesłanie jest takie, że niezależnie napotykanych na drodze trudności społeczno-politycznych, istnieją pewne rzeczy, drobniejsze, czasem chwilowe, które mogą wskazywać nam drogę – być taką Gwiazdą Polarną, tytułową „Polaris” – metaforą nadziei i stałości.
