Electric Light Orchestra powstała 30 lat temu. Celem jej założyciela, Jeffa Lynna, było tworzenie wpadających w ucho piosenek rockowo-popowych. Nowy studyjny album ELO "Alone in the Universe" potwierdza, że muzykom nadal przyświeca ten sam cel - każdy z dziesięciu utworów zapada w pamięć już po pierwszym przesłuchaniu.

Niemal 15 lat od ostatniej płyty ELO powraca i udowadnia, że miano jednej z najbardziej elektryzujących grup w historii muzyki jest jak najbardziej zasłużone.

"O tej płycie już teraz myślimy, jako o współczesnym klasyku" - mówi Ashley Newton, szef Columbia Records.

Autorem piosenek oraz producentem płyty "Alone in the Universe" jest główny wokalista i gitarzysta zespołu, Jeff Lynne, który ma na koncie 50 milionów płyt oraz dziesiątki hitów (jak choćby "Don't Bring Me Down" czy "Rock'n'Roll Is King") oraz liczne nagrody i wyróżnienia.
