To już 20 album studyjny Springsteena, pierwszy od płyty "High Hopes" z 2014 roku z E Street Band i ich pierwsza w współpraca od trasy The River Tour z 2016 roku.
Sam artysta mówi o płycie tak: "Kocham emocjonalną duszę "Letter To You". Kocham też brzmienie E Street Band grającego na żywo w studiu w sposób, w jaki nigdy wcześniej tego nie robiliśmy, bez dogrywek. Stworzyliśmy ten album w 5 dni i okazało się to jednym z najlepszych doświadczeń mojego życia"
"Letter To You" zawiera dziewięć nowych piosenek i trzy nowe nagrania jego legendarnych ale wcześniej nie wydanych kompozycji z lat 70' - "Janey Needs a Shooter", "If I Was the Priest" i "Song for Orphans". Na albumie poza Brucem Springsteenem usłyszymy takich artystów jak: Roy Bittan, Nils Lofgren, Patti Scialfa, Garry Tallent, Stevie Van Zandt, Max Weinberg, Charlie Giordano i Jake Clemons. Za produkcje odpowiadał Ron Aniello i Bruce, za mix Bob Clearmountain, a za mastering Bob Ludwig.
