Nowa płyta ‘Twelve’ legendarnej rockowej wokalistki zawierać będzie covery popularnych utworów z repertuaru rozmaitych artystów XX w. a jej premiera zbiegnie się w czasie z wprowadzeniem wokalistki do prestiżowego Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Na płycie ‘Twelve” Patti Smith i jej zespół - Lenny Kaye (gitara), Jay Dee Daugherty (perkusja) i Tony Shanahan (gitara basowa, klawisze) usłyszeć można w zaskakującym repertuarze - jak choćby w "Pastime Paradise" Stevie’go Wondera, "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" Tears for Fears czy "Helpless" Neila Younga. Pozostali artyści, których kompozycję artystka postanowiła wykonać w swojej wersji to Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, the Doors, Nirvana, Jefferson Airplane, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Allman Brothers i Paul Simon.
